With restaurants getting the go-ahead to resume dine-in service, while adhering to specific protocols, as part of the state’s Phase 2 reopening plan, Smith Center restaurant partners Oscar’s Steakhouse and Triple George recently reopened their doors to welcome back eager guests.

Triple George Grill, recognized for its power lunch specials, happy hour offerings and classic cuisine, reopened on May 30. The restaurant’s dining room and patio are now open at 50% capacity for reservations and walk-ins, with its popular happy hour available from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Kevin Glass, Resort General Manager for Downtown Grand Las Vegas, says that the restaurant has already seen great success in the short amount of time since they reopened. “We are definitely seeing a lot of enthusiastic locals who want to support our business,” says Glass.

Triple George Grill, known as one of the first independent eateries to emerge in the beginning years of the revitalization of downtown Las Vegas, will celebrate its 15th anniversary in July 2020.

Nearby, Oscar’s Steakhouse overlooking the lights of Fremont Street reopened on June 18 for dining under the Plaza’s iconic glass dome Thursday through Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. To celebrate its reopening, Oscar’s is offering locals 20 percent off their entire check, excluding gratuity, June 18 through July 31. Oscar’s lounge has also brought back its popular happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. daily.

“Downtown Las Vegas has numerous top-tier chefs offering diverse culinary experiences, so it is great to see people again enjoying all that downtown’s restaurants have to offer,” says Ryan Rowland, Director of Food & Beverage for the Plaza Hotel & Casino. “We are very excited to welcome guests back to the Plaza and to Oscar’s, where they can sit back and enjoy a vintage Vegas steakhouse experience including a mouthwatering steak, classic seafood dishes and hand-crafted cocktails overlooking the lights and action of the Fremont Street Experience.”

Both restaurant partners say they miss hosting The Smith Center’s patrons while its stages remain dark.

“We love Smith Center patrons,” says Triple George’s Glass. “Honestly, they fit our demographic and, clearly from a location perspective, it’s very convenient for guests to enjoy both destinations in an evening.”

Rowland adds, “We are proud to be a close neighbor to the Smith Center, which has elevated the valley’s arts and culture offerings exponentially and created an amazing opportunity for locals and tourists to enjoy dinner and a show.”
