The Bridges of Madison County Connects Decision with Desire

Broadway Las Vegas

Next February will truly be a month for love here in Southern Nevada. Not only does it bring Valentine’s Day, it will also see a stunning production of The Bridges of Madison County in Reynolds Hall. The romantic musical runs Tuesday, February 23 through Sunday, February 28, 2016.

Many people are familiar with Robert James Waller’s best-selling novel and the smash hit big-screen version of The Bridges of Madison County, starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. Now a gorgeous stage musical, it follows the four-day whirlwind romance of Iowa housewife Francesca Johnson and traveling photographer Robert Kincaid – complete with lush, dramatic music that draws upon the rich textures of Americana and folk and the sweeping, expressive balladry of classic Broadway. In fact, it claimed the 2014 Tony Award for Best Score. This is a work of art for anyone who believes in love and second chances … it’s for anyone with a heart.

The creative powerhouse behind the musical includes Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years), Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman (‘Night, Mother, The Secret Garden, The Color Purple) and Tony Award winner Barlett Sher (South Pacific).

The Bridges of Madison County is the fifth production in The Smith Center’s 2015 – 2016 Broadway Las Vegas® Series sponsored by Southern Nevada Ford Stores. Subscriptions are still available, but they are going fast and end June 5!
