The Smith Center Presents Electrifying Concerts Across Rock Spectrum

The Smith Center reopens this fall with a lineup to make audiences raise lighters high.
The center’s new season cranks the volume with explosive performances spanning every rock style.
So, whether you find your jam with classic rock anthems, Golden Oldies vibes or rock staples reimagined with a full symphony orchestra, the center offers a show to get your fist pumping.

For Classic Rock Purists …and Classical Music Devotees:
Symphonic Rockshow, featuring Brody Dolyniuk – Oct. 1, 2021
Whether you endured the pandemic by listening to Bach or Pink Floyd, this show will thrill you.
Beloved Vegas singer Brody Dolyniuk never fails to pack seats with his ongoing Symphonic Rockshows, featuring Vegas’ top string players and a five-piece band performing reimagined versions of iconic rock hits.
The upcoming concert continues this popular series with a visual extravaganza, rife with video projections and lasers. The production will showcase Dolyniuk’s band nailing staples by Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and more.
Nowhere else can you experience these songs made rich and robust with the power of a 21-piece orchestra.
For ‘80s Pop and Rock Enthusiasts:
“An Officer and a Gentleman” – Oct. 26 to 31, 2021
Even for those who didn’t sport legwarmers in this era, the ’80s provided a beloved catalogue of giddy pop and standard-setting rock songs.
The new musical adaptation of Oscar-winning film “An Officer and a Gentleman” taps into the public’s nostalgia for these tunes. The uplifting show comes packed with hit ‘80s songs, all aiming to keep audiences break dancing in their seats.
These include energizing tunes by Styx and Debbie Gibson, along with No. 1 hit “Up Where We Belong.”
Arrange for someone to carry you out (romantic kiss optional), as these songs will sweep you off your feet.
For the Progressive Rock Loyalist:
This iconic band carved its place in music history with megahits such as “Dust in the Wind,” “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Point of Know Return.”
The group continues this legacy touring the world with original members such as drummer Phil Ehart and guitarist Richard Williams. They have yet to stop shaping their sound, and just released the band’s newest album in 2020.
After Kansas sold out its last visit to The Smith Center, the band returns to perform its sextuple-platinum album “Point of Know Return,” which turned 40 in 2020.
The concert will also feature many more favorites, bringing fans to the point of — well, you know.
For Those Who Get Happy Hearing the Blues:
Singer-songwriter-guitarist Boz Scaggs maintains a global following for his hits like “Lowdown,” “Jojo” and “Lido Shuffle” – and he returns to The Smith Center to perform tunes from his new, Grammy-nominated album.
These melodies dive deep into the blues.
Backed by a swinging band of leading musicians, Scaggs will perform covers of blues classics by icons such as Bobby "Blue" Bland and Jimmy Reed, as well as his own blues originals.
He’ll brighten things up a bit, too — longtime Scaggs fans can also look forward to hearing his greatest hits.
For ‘60s and ‘70s Pop Worshippers:
Happy Together – July 15, 2022
Golden Oldies fans, rejoice.
“Happy Together” offers the rare chance to hear the most iconic bands of the 1960s and 1970s back to back, in one life-changing concert.
After dominating the airwaves throughout the ‘60s, The Turtles continue to perform the band’s top hits such as “Happy Together” and “It Ain’t Me Babe,” while still led by founding member Mark Volman.
Inviting audiences to relive their favorite rock and pop staples, the band has toured for the past 10 years with the most popular groups of this epic music era.
The Turtles will perform with an all-star lineup at The Smith Center, including:
- Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night, performing hits such as “Joy To The World,” “Mama Told Me Not To Come,” “Shambala” and “One”
- The Association, playing its chart-topping tunes including “Cherish,” “Windy,” “Never My Love” and “Along Comes Mary”
- Gary Puckett & the Union Gap, delivering the group’s iconic melodies such as “Woman, Woman,” “Young Girl” and “Lady Willpower”
- The Vogues, playing the band’s many Top 10 hits, including “Five O’Clock World,” “You’re The One,” “My Special Angel” and “Turn Around Look At Me”
- The Cowsills, performing the group’s best-known songs such as “The Rain, The Park and Other Things,” “Hair” and “Love American Style”
