Honoring Volunteers at The Smith Center

The Smith Center takes pride in being Las Vegas’ Heart of the Arts®, and our team of volunteers has been instrumental in keeping that heart pumping strongly since the performing arts center opened in 2012.

On April 14, The Smith Center honored those volunteers with a festive appreciation event and awards ceremony inside Myron’s.

“Our volunteers are critical to the success of The Smith Center, and we’re so happy to bring them together for this celebration,” Joseph Ralston, Guest Experience Director for The Smith Center, said. “Whether you’ve been volunteering here since opening night or you’re new to the team, we’re thankful for your contributions in making sure every guest that comes to The Smith Center leaves with a smile on their face.”

Volunteer Steven Smith was the 2025 recipient of the Larry LeBlanc Award, given to the individual who best embodies the spirit of a beloved Smith Center volunteer who passed away in 2021.

Cliff Butler received this year’s Rising Star Award, given to a volunteer in their first year at The Smith Center.

Other volunteers receiving top honors were Janet McDonald and David Rodriguez, who took home President’s Volunteer Service Gold Awards for 500-plus hours, and Cheryl Hartfield, Lisa Link and Pamela Posster, who joined Butler and Smith with President’s Volunteer Service Silver Awards for 250-plus hours.

Additionally, 23 volunteers received President’s Volunteer Service Bronze Awards for 100-plus hours.

Thanks go out to all The Smith Center’s dedicated volunteers for their ongoing service.
