Broadway Las Vegas

Every year, The Smith Center awards a pair of tickets to every show in its Toyota Broadway Las Vegas® Series. And fittingly, this year’s winner is a member of the Las Vegas and Broadway performing arts worlds herself.
Local resident Becky Stephenson, who won our 2024-2025 giveaway, currently serves as the general stage manager for Cirque du Soleil show KÀ at MGM Grand. Stephenson first moved to Las Vegas in 2005 to open the Broadway musical Avenue Q at Wynn Las Vegas and has worked for Cirque since 2006.
“I am extremely grateful for this opportunity,” Stephenson said of winning the contest.
Stephenson received tickets to 10 Broadway productions at The Smith Center, including 2024 performances of beloved cinematic classic-turned Broadway smash Back to the Future: The Musical (running October 26-November 3) and family favorite Shrek the Musical (November 26-December 1).
Once the calendar turns to 2025, Stephenson will be back inside majestic Reynolds Hall for 2023 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical Kimberly Akimbo (February 4-9), iconic and groundbreaking musical The Wiz (April 1-6), epic saga Hamilton (May 20-June 1) powerful musical revival Parade (June 10-15) and romantic, Top 40 hit-packed comedy & Juliet (June 24-29).
Whether you’re a lifelong Broadway attendee or a relative newcomer to the scene, Broadway performances are an ideal way to build lifelong memories with family and friends. “To be able share this win with my friends and my son makes it even more special,” Stephenson says.
Tickets for Smith Center Broadway productions are available at TheSmithCenter.com.
Originally hailing from a small town about 30 minutes from Albany, New York, Stephenson says she has been a fan of Broadway for as long as she can remember. “I grew up listening to Broadway shows on my parents’ record player and would put on shows in my living room,” she says. “My first professional performance was in Annie – I played Pepper – and was hooked from that point on.”
Stephenson also worked every year at her local summer stock theater. “I always wanted to be immersed in the world of theater,” she says. “I went to Wagner College on Staten Island, where I fell in love with stage management. I’ve have worked professionally in the field of entertainment since graduation.”
Stephenson says she was ecstatic to learn she’d won The Smith Center’s contest. “This feels quite significant,” she says. “I’m reminded of my times on the road and the great friendships that have lasted till today.
“Every time I see a show at The Smith Center, my memories of this time come flooding back. It makes this win super special for me.”
