Discovering The Smith Center
Without a doubt, Smith Center Members and subscribers both play key roles in the center’s operations.
“As a nonprofit organization, The Smith Center greatly values both its Members and subscribers,” says Carol Hollatz, senior director of Annual Fund and Membership. “Our Members’ generous support makes everything at The Smith Center possible, including our world-class shows and outreach programs. And our subscribers make Broadway performances at the center incredibly successful, year after year.”
Yet some might not realize, Hollatz notes, that Smith Center Members and subscribers are not the same thing.
The term Member refers to anyone who donates to The Smith Center, she explains.
“We have Members who give donations of all sizes, starting from a few dollars each month,” she says.
Subscribers, on the other hand, represent season ticket holders for The Smith Center’s Broadway Las Vegas® Series, which brings top Broadway shows to the center throughout each year.
“The Smith Center has always maintained over 10,000 subscribers since opening,” Hollatz says.
Members and subscribers help support The Smith Center in different ways, Hollatz adds.
They also enjoy different benefits.
Smith Center Members
Community members have many options to become Smith Center Members, Hollatz says.
These include: monetary donations to the center’s Annual Fund; planned-giving options, such as contributions through an estate plan; as well as donating to the Campaign to Sustain The Smith Center, which aims to secure the center’s future.
“Member donations of every value make a difference,” Hollatz says. “Ticket sales only cover 75 percent of The Smith Center’s operating costs, and our nonprofit relies on philanthropic support to cover the remaining 25 percent.”
Smith Center Members provide crucial support that allows The Smith Center to present hundreds of performances each year at accessible prices, Hollatz says.
Their donations also help provide the center’s outreach programs impacting tens of thousands of students each year, she says. They further support the maintenance of The Smith Center campus.
Members also enjoy special benefits. Depending on contribution levels, these can include:

- Invitations to special Smith Center events
- Meet-and-greet opportunities with leading performers
- Invitations to the center’s annual Broadway Las Vegas® Series announcement event

Smith Center Subscribers
By purchasing a season subscription to The Smith Center’s Broadway Las Vegas® Series, subscribers secure their seats to a year’s worth of Tony-winning productions.
“Subscribers drive ticket sales for each Broadway production at The Smith Center, which in turn helps the center continue booking the most in-demand shows,” Hollatz says.
Subscribers also enjoy special benefits — different from Member benefits — which include:
- Locking in the lowest season ticket price
- Keeping the same seats for every show, with the chance to renew or upgrade in the following season
- The option to customize shows in a season package
- Saving up to $135 on ticket fees
- Access to purchasing additional tickets for Broadway shows, before their public on-sale
- Receiving 20 percent off ticket prices on select, non-Broadway shows
- The option to exchange or upgrade tickets for each Broadway show
