How have you changed your cleaning procedures?

We are routinely cleaning and sanitizing high-contact and frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, handrails, and armrest surfaces with powerful electrostatic machines and anti-microbial spray treatments. Our new cutting-edge Clorox® Total 360® System pairs an electrostatic sprayer with a portfolio of Clorox disinfectants and sanitizers that are proven to kill Covid-19 in a matter of seconds with a fine mist that dries quickly. The entire venue will be cleaned before and after performances, with restrooms and lobbies also being cleaned during the performances.

How are you reducing the number of contact points at the venue?

We have been working to reduce the number of contact points by eliminating most cash transactions for the sales of food and beverage, merchandise and tickets. We have also added plexiglass partitions to our concession areas. Additionally, we are encouraging patrons to pay for parking in advance of their visit.

What about the air in the building? How do I know it’s as fresh as it can be?

All patrons who attend performances can feel confident that our building spaces are as healthy as possible, with 100% fresh air coming in and highly efficient circulation at all times. To achieve this, we have enhanced our airflow system and added HVAC ultraviolet (UVC) light sanitization into each of our state-of-the art air handlers to maximize fresh air intake at all times. UVC radiation is a known disinfectant for air, water, and nonporous surfaces and, in fact, has been used for decades to reduce the spread of bacteria, such as tuberculosis. We also employ a recommended combination of MERV 13 cartridge filters and MERV 8 prefilters to further reduce the spread of airborne particulates and optimize the air quality inside all of our venues.

Will you be providing hand sanitizer stations at the venue?

We have positioned an abundant supply of hand sanitizer stations all throughout our venues, including near all building entrances, restrooms, bars, concession areas and entrances to the respective theaters.

How do I know staff and volunteers are healthy?

All employees of The Smith Center who physically perform their job responsibilities on our premises are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or be subject to weekly COVID-19 testing at an approved partner location. All employees will be required to wear a mask while at work. They will also be asked to wash their hands frequently. In addition, gloves will be worn when there is not a contactless solution.
