Southern Nevada teenagers Zoe McCracken and Riley Stannard got a true taste of life as theater professionals this June. That’s because the two theater students competed at the national Jimmy Awards in New York City, which included performing on a Broadway stage alongside the country’s top high school performers.

As a nonprofit, the center relies on numerous volunteers to help with many aspects of its operations, including leading docent tours, assisting at special events and ushering at performances and student matinees throughout the year.

Rick Darnold can say with confidence that he knows The Smith Center well. A Las Vegas native, Darnold participated in the original capital campaign to fund The Smith Center’s development. His wife Krista further helped open The Smith Center, as its director of corporate partnerships.
