Broadway Las Vegas
The Notebook originated as a bestselling Nicholas Sparks romance novel in 1996 before being adapted into a beloved 2004 film. Now, the musical version, which opened on Broadway in 2024, is headed to town for its Las Vegas debut, March 31 to April 5. A few hours before one of Stereophonic’s eight recent performances in Reynolds Hall, Members who donate $1,000 or more annually to the nonprofit performing arts center had the unique opportunity to hear Butler – along with Director Daniel Aukin, Music Director Justin Craig and Lead Producers Sue Wagner and John Johnson – share insight into a Broadway play that earned the most nominations in Tony Awards® history.

Every year, the nonprofit performing arts center welcomes busloads of local students to its campus for free student matinees – part of The Smith Center’s central mission of providing arts access and education to children across Nevada. Last school year alone, more than 42,000 students and teachers participated in student matinees here.
