The Boy Who Cried Wolf (Sensory Inclusive)

Silas is from a family of shepherds and has to do right by his mum and granddad as he reluctantly takes on the responsibility of watching their sheep up on the mountain over the winter. But he’s bored, lonely, and missing out on the fun of the annual knitting competition in town, so he cries - “Wolf!”

This is a beautiful wintery tale about a boy who learns that “nobody believes a liar, even when they’re telling the truth” and finds a place for himself (and his imagination) in his warm woolly community. Inspired by Aesop’s famous fable, a gifted ensemble of actor musicians play instruments and sing live as they embody all the delightful characters, including hilarious sheep and perhaps a scary wolf or two…

The Smith Center is thrilled to present a sensory inclusive performance of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Sensory inclusive performances are designed to serve any person with a physical, emotional, intellectual, or developmental disability as well as those without disabilities. This performance will be modified to address the sensory sensitivities that are often found in children, adolescents, and adults who have a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to: Autism spectrum disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD, intellectual and developmental disabilities, post-traumatic stress disorder, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. Families are encouraged to attend together for an enjoyable visit to the theater.

Attendees Under 18: Children aged 5 and up with a ticket can attend performances at The Smith Center. Based on content, children ages 4+ are allowed for this performance only. All patrons must have their own ticket, regardless of age (no babies held in arms or children sitting on laps).
