Performance Information
Jazzmeia Horn first gained the attention of the music world when she won the 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, followed by the 2015 Thelonious Monk Institute International Jazz Competition. Shortly after that honor, Horn was signed by Concord Records and released her debut album, A Social Call, in 2017, earning Horn her first Grammy Award nomination.
Horn continued to tour nationally and internationally, honing her vocal, performance and writing skills to convey her message about the global need for love and social change. In 2019, she released Love and Liberation, which also received a Grammy nomination. The following year, she published her book, Strive from Within: The Jazzmeia Horn Approach, while also recording her big band album Dear Love. Released in 2021, Dear Love is an album of encouragement through poetry and spoken word to address the aspects of Horn’s community, her love and herself.
Amidst performing, writing and preparing for her next album, Horn also teaches students and conducts outreach programs around the world through her Jazz Horn International Vocal Initiative.
